With LANGUAGE! Live, a good implementation equals good results. Students exceed typical gains and close the gap faster than with any other literacy product. For example, with a 45-minute implementation, it is common for teachers to facilitate classrooms in which students have completed 6 to 7 units in Word Training and Text Training. Teacher Antavia Hamilton-Ochs led the charge to implement LANGUAGE! Live at Bartlett, one of the most diverse high schools in the country. With more than 90 spoken languages at the school and a broad range of learning challenges, she knew it could fill the gap for the students who need an intervention program to get on grade level for reading. Karen Loy, principal of Northwest Middle School, shares that 60 percent of her incoming sixth graders are unable to read above the third grade level. Northwest has a diverse ELL population with many different languages spoken. One ELL student, Martin, was once disruptive but has excelled with LANGUAGE! Live and now is on grade level for reading.
